7 Types of  Technology You Didn't Know You Were Using

What are the 7 different types of technology?

In your daily life, you probably use at least one of the following types of technology that we’re about to discuss. You might use more than one, and you might not even realize how many different types of technology there are out there. Keep reading to discover seven different types of technology that you might be using without even realizing it!

1) Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is a form of Internet-based storage and computing resources, whereby data and information can be accessed by a user using either a thin client over the Internet or via mobile device. Cloud computing is generally considered to be more scalable, cost-effective and even more accessible to users than traditional, in-premises technology. There are 7 types of technology:

- Distributed Computing - Application Software - Web Services - Cluster Computing - Parallel Computing - Cloud Computing - Data Storage

2) Internet of Things

The Internet of Things is a broad term used to describe how we interact with and rely on machines. Nowadays, there are many types of technology that are part of the internet such as electric cars and smartphones, as well as older devices like microwave ovens. To put it simply, the Internet of Things can be anything from a simple device such as a heart monitor to a complex machine like an airport control tower.

3) Big Data

Big Data is a term used to describe datasets that are so large or complex that traditional processing techniques are inadequate. Big Data technologies enable organizations to gather and analyze vast amounts of data quickly, enabling them to make quicker decisions.

4) Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is an evolving technology that has many different uses. One use is to create voice-controlled devices, such as the Amazon Echo. This type of device can be used to order items online or play music, among other things, just by giving it a command. These devices are becoming popular because they provide convenience and ease for their users with little effort on their end.

5) Blockchain

The Blockchain is a decentralized, public ledger that records transactions in a chronological order. It's the technology that drives cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. The Blockchain eliminates the need for third parties, such as banks, in financial transactions. With Blockchain, people can exchange value directly with each other without the need for middlemen.

6) Virtual Reality

Virtual reality is the most popular type of technology in use today. Though it's only been around for a few years, VR has already made its way into homes, schools and hospitals.

It's also making great strides in the entertainment industry. With VR headsets like the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, you can play video games or watch movies like never before.

7)Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality is a different type of technology, and it's one that can be found in many places. Augmented Reality is most commonly seen on mobile devices. By use the camera lens on their device, an individual can see digital or virtual objects overlaid onto their real-world environment in real-time.

For example, if you’ve ever taken a picture with your iPhone and seen the option to add a photo filter before snapping the picture, then you’ve witnessed augmented reality.
